Make sure to be online already when you arrive at Campus Life
You will be sent an email with username/password from "Splash Access" before moving in, giving you access to the wifi. We recommend that you register your devices before you move in. That way, you are online when you enter the building. Check your junk mail if you haven't received the email.
In your apartment
There is a router in your apartment with four ports. The ports make it possible to connect devices with an Ethernet cable. Since this is a private network, you have to register all devices you want connected to the network, regardless of whether the connection is made with an Ethernet cable or via WiFi. After registering the device, the device will be connected to the network throughout the building where WiFi is available.
At UMEUS you have access to two different WiFi networks:
CAMPUSLIFE
The network is available throughout the building where the network is visible.
This is your private network and the network you will use to connect your devices. You have to register your devices to gain access to the internet.
Before moving in, you will receive a link from "Splashaccess" giving you access to your personal user portal. We recommend that you register your devices before you move in. That way, you are online when you enter the building.
There are two ways to register your devices
- You must register the device's MAC- or Wifi-address in the registration portal (all devices that have a built-in network card have a unique MAC/Wifi-address). Once you have registered the device, you do not need a username and password to access campuslife WiFi.
This portal is personal, so only use it to register your own devices.
Password must be changed when you log in for the first time.
- Log on to campuslife WiFi with your username and password when you arrive at Campus Life. It will take close to a minute to connect to the internet the first time. The next time you are automatically connected without having to enter your username and password. This can be done from any device that has a "captive portal", such as a mobile phone, PC, Mac, most gaming consoles etc.
EDUROAM
The network is available throughout the building where the network is visible.
Eduroam is an international roaming service for users in research and higher education. This gives researchers, lecturers and students a simple and secure network when the person in question visits other institutions than the one they normally belong to.
The user needs a username and password issued by the school to gain access.
